Common Ankle Problems
The "ankle" is where the leg attaches to the foot. It is common area to injure such as spriains and fractures It is surround by ligaments that hold it together that can be injured and cause sensation of instabilty or weakness. There are numerous tendons that help support the joint as well as pass onto control your foot and toes.
Self Diagnosis vs. Professional Evaluation:
The information age is in full swing. Most people have access and enough savvy to look on the internet when they have a medical problem leading to self diagnosis and self treatment. Common problems are common (sic). But for persistent problems (orthopedic or otherwise) it is probably best to be evaluated and at least have your home "diagnosis" confirmed and it's most effective treatments outlined.Orthopedic Surgeons do not go through 5+ years of training and testing for nothing. ;-)
